Violin

Eunice Keem, since the age of ten, has been studying with Professor Cyrus Forough, who was a student of David Oistrakh at the Moscow Conservatory. She was a semifinalist at the 7th International Violin Competition of Indianapolis in 2006, and was the only non-finalist to receive an award for the “Paganini Prize”. She received first prizes at the prestigious Johansen International Competition in Washington DC, the American String Teacher’s Association National Competition, the Kingsville International Young Performers Competition, Carnegie Mellon University’s Concerto Competition (both as a freshman in 2003 and graduate student in 2008), and was a winner in the Pittsburgh Concert Society Auditions. She was also a top prizewinner at the Irving M. Klein International Competition in San Francisco, CA, Schadt International String Competition in PA, Sorantin International Young Artist Competition in San Angelo, TX, and the Corpus Christi International Young Artists Competition.

Eunice has been a featured soloist with numerous orchestras including the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra at Orchestra Hall and on their Western European tour, the National Chamber Orchestra, Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra in Michigan, Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra, the Evanston Symphony Orchestra, and the Skokie Valley Symphony Orchestra.

Eunice was a member of the Fine Arts Trio, first place winners of the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition She is currently a member of Carnegie Mellon University’s Starling Quartet, which is sponsored by the Dorothy Richard Starling Foundation.

Eunice has performed in masterclasses given by Ida Haendel, Maxim Vengerov, Joel Smirnoff, Nelli Schkolnikova, Mauricio Fuks, Vadim Repin, Ulf Hoelscher, Ruggiero Ricci, and Mstislav Rostropovich. She has been invited on numerous occasions to perform at the Stradivari Society in Chicago. She has participated in the Chateau de Champs Masterclasses in Paris, the International Academy of Music in Montpellier, and the Rencontres Musicales Internationales des Graves in Bordeaux, France, as well as the International Music Academy in Pilsen, Czech Republic, Bowdoin International Music Festival and the Beverly Hills International Music Festival. She is currently a masters student studying with Professor Cyrus Forough at Carnegie Mellon University.
