Born and raised in London, Ishani Bhoola began studying the violin at the age of seven. At 14 Ishani won a scholarship to the Purcell School of Music where she studied with Leonard Hirsch and Erich Gruenberg. While there, Ishani won numerous prizes including the Craxton Memorial Trust and the Martin Trust. She also won the Menhuin Banff Scholarship to participate in master classes at the Banff Center of Fine Arts. Ishani continued her studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she studied with Jack Glickman and was the winner of the Sheriff's Violin Prize. She was invited to participate in numerous master classes, including those with Nathan Milstein and Ruggeiro Ricci.

Ishani was a member of the first violin section of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, playing under conductors such as Klaus Tennstedt and Franz Welser Most. She also played regularly with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, and the City of London Sinfonia.

In 1991, following her success as the first prize winner of the prestigious international Sascha Lasserson Memorial Competition, Ishani gave her critically acclaimed debut recital at the Purcell Room on London's South Bank. Musical Opinion hailed it as a "performance of formidable technical command and considerable interpretative insight," and The Guardian declared that Ishani played with "a passion that was intensified by her compelling sense of repose."

In 1994 Ms. Bhoola further pursued her passion for chamber music, becoming a member of the English Chamber Orchestra and performing extensively in Europe, Asia and the U.S. She gave the debut performances of Nigel Dodds' "Five Icons for St Peter" in St. George's, Bristol, as well as Mark Goddard's "Questions" in the Purcell Room on London's South Bank.

In 1997 Ishani moved from London to Chicago and devoted more time to her love of chamber music. She was a founding member of the Montag Ensemble, enjoying considerable success with broadcasts on Chicago's WFMT. While living in Chicago she became a member of the Grant Park Symphony Orchestra.

After moving to Los Angeles in 2000, Ishani became a member of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, the Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra, The Pacific Symphony Orchestra, and the Los Angeles Opera. Ishani has also performed numerous times with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. She is also active in the motion picture recording industry. Ishani is a current and founding member of the Romauldo Trio.

Ishani is an Associate of London's Royal College of Music, and an Associate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
